After viewing Lili Ya Loulou: Lili the Pearl, a print from Rana Salam Studio’s collection at surfaceview.com, Julian Metcalf was inspired by her use of butterflies, something which suited Itsu’s logo and ethos of the ‘lightness’ and ‘beauty’ of modern Japanese cuisine. He commissioned her to create a unique wallpaper for his chain of restaurants. The result was a range of exciting wall graphic, designed to match the brand and its simplicity, without losing colour or reducing vibrancy.
